North Carolina recently secured its spot as a leader for Best Business Climate in Business Facilities' 2022 State Rankings Report. This victory closely follows the Tar Heel State also being ranked #1 by CNBC in their annual “America’s Top States for Business” list.


It is great to see that North Carolina receiving the level of recognition that it deserves, and on the cusp of the pandemic, these titles really speak to the insurmountable work that has been done to ensure the continued success of the North Carolina business community.

So, what makes North Carolina different? For instance, the Report evaluated the diversity of growth sectors, incentives, workforce development and training, and educational opportunities and partnerships. The factors analyzed in the report evaluated important factors and the conclusion that overall North Carolina is Best in Business is significant for those looking to start their business in this area.r


In addition to awarding North Carolina a major title, the report also ranked the State in the top 10 for the following additional categories: Tech Talent Pipeline; Customized Workforce Training; Food Processing; BioPharma; Semiconductors; Manufacturing Output (GDP); Offshore Wind Power (MW by 2030); Solar Installed Capacity; and Foreign Direct Investment for both project and capital investment.


North Carolina is now, arguably, one of the most desirable states for a business owner to plant roots. It will be interesting to see how the continued influx of businesses affects the already rapidly growing business community in Charlotte.
